Cancellation Policy

We love our runners and want to accommodate where possible, so we offer the following deferral, refund and transfer policies. Please take a moment to review all of the options.

  • 100% refund through the Refund Protection Policy
  • Request a 50% withdrawal refund
  • Deferral into a not yet sold out CMTR race
  • Transfer your entry to another athlete
  • Transfer your entry to a different distance

A. 100% refund through the Refund Protection Policy

A 100% refund is only available to those who purchased the third-party Refund Protection Policy offered at the time of registration.

You can make your refund claim through this link: Request My Refund

If the reason for withdrawing is not covered under the Refund Protection's policy terms, you can still make a request for a 50% withdrawal refund, defer your entry, or transfer your bib to another runner.

NOTE: Claims should be made within 30 days after a covered reason first begins and may require supporting documents (i.e., doctor’s note).

B. Request a 50% withdrawal refund

If you wish to withdraw, but did not purchase the Refund Protection Policy, or if your policy claim was denied, you can request a refund for 50% of your registration fees. The deadline to request a 50% withdrawal refund is May 15, 2026.

To make a 50% withdrawal refund request, email run@trailrunning.ca.

C. Deferral into a not yet sold out CMTR race

You can defer your entry into a not yet sold out CMTR race (excluding the Squamish 50 and the Alpenglow 100) up to but not including next year’s WHM.

Up to 30 days before race day, we offer a 100% fee deferral. Between 14 and 30 days before race day, we offer a 50% deferral of fees. Within 2 weeks of race day - No refunds. No deferrals. No exceptions.

Entries can be deferred only once to a single event.

To make a deferral request, email run@trailrunning.ca.

D. Transfer your entry to a different athlete

The only CMTR event that this applies to is the Whistler Half Marathon. The deadline to transfer your entry to a different athlete is May 15, 2026. Transfers and payments are processed solely through Race Roster. Any requests to make payments outside of Race Roster will not result in a valid bib transfer, and the Whistler Half Marathon is not responsible for any loss of funds or replacement entries.

  • An existing athlete finds a new athlete to take their spot
  • Existing athlete goes to the Online Registration Page

  • The Original Athlete is refunded once the new athlete completes the transfer process.

NOTE: There is a $10 administration fee to transfer to a different athlete.

For more information on how to spot a scam, read Race Roster’s article Best practices for initiating, receiving and completing transfers.

  • Go to the Online Registration Page
  • On the right side of the page, click the TRANSFER button
  • Sign in to your Race Roster Account
  • Choose a new sub-event distance that you would like to participate in
