Trails in Motion Film Night

We are proud to be working once again with the Trails in Motion Film Tour to offer this annual international collection of the finest trail and ultra running films. With screenings all around the globe, Whistler is one of many world-class running destinations to be hosting this great selection of films. Hosted at the Salomon store, the evening will begin with a short gear talk at 7pm for those interested, with the films beginning at 7:30pm. Beer, soft drinks, and light snacks provided. $5 from every ticket will go to support Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Sign up here!
Course Preview Shakeout Run

If you are looking to loosen up your legs and get a taste of the racecourse, sign-up for our course-preview shakeout run, introduced and led by featured runner Max King! Held from the package pickup area at the Whistler Olympic Plaza, we will head onto the same trails you will be racing the following day for a casual 4km loop. All conversational paces are welcome and encouraged! Salomon will offer gravel shoe demos before the run, and Näak nutrition recovery products will be available post-run. We will gather at 4:15pm, where Max will lead a short warm-up, so that we are ready to hit the trails at 4:30pm sharp! Register here!

Featured Runner
Max King
Max has prided himself on being able to run anything. Anything from 3k steeple to obstacle courses to 100-mile ultras. There is fun in just being on two legs and going fast or climbing mountains. Based in Bend, Oregon, Max has raced and won over a huge range of distances and terrain including winning both the World Mountain Running Championship in 2011 and the 100km World Championship in 2014. Recently he has taken on several projects to give back to the running community. He is a co-director of the Max King Trail Running Camps for youth and adults, the co-director of the Bend Marathon, and an advocate for youth running and public lands.
Live Set with DJ Foxy Moron
Friday, June 6th
Start: 5:30pm - 7:30pm at Whistler Olympic Plaza Main Stage
Come join the party on Friday evening as DJ Foxy Moron performs a live set on the main stage of Whistler Olympic Plaza. Foxy Moron is funky! But her selections aren’t limited to just funk. She loves all genres and likes to bring them together with whimsical segues. She prepares for her sets, but she doesn’t plan them. The listeners determine where the music will go.

Traditional Welcome Ceremony
Saturday, June 7th
Start: 6:50am at Whistler Olympic Plaza
The Whistler Half Marathon races will commence with a traditional welcome ceremony hosted by cultural ambassadors from the Squamish and Lil’wat Cultural Centre. Join us at the start line at 6:50am for a traditional language introduction and interpretation, a brief overview of the territory in which Whistler is situated, and a powerful drum song to end the ceremony and officially kick off race day!

Kid’s Performance by Ira Pettle

If 'Kid Whisperer' was a job title, Ira Pettle would write the handbook. Canadian-born entertainer and arts educator, Pettle is a graduate of the acclaimed Second City Conservatory Program in Toronto where he also studied theatre at the Randolph College for the Performing Arts. He is well-known as ‘DJ Ira’ throughout the Sea to Sky corridor and is one of BC’s most sought-after family entertainers. A key player in BC’s performing arts scene, most notably in Whistler where he was named the 2019 Champion of Arts and Culture at the Whistler Excellence Awards, Ira also holds a master's degree in education and has taught improv, acting, and music to thousands of kids, teens, and adults. In 2022, his debut children's album, A Little Bit, co-written with Juno award winning singer/songwriter, Norman Foote, was nominated for Children's Artist of the Year at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards and his next record is slated for release in the winter of 2025. Pettle also co-produces and stars in Whistler's acclaimed comedy show, Laugh Out LIVE!

Dog Jog

Happy dogs = happy humans! Organized in partnership with the Whistler Animals Galore (WAG) Animal Shelter, enjoy a social run through the trails of Lost Lake Park with your furry friend, including passing by Canine Cove for those water loving dogs! Come support animals in need while meeting fellow dog lovers and their furry friends for a 5km loop on what should be a beautiful day on the trails! Each registered pup also receives a small goodie-bag from Whistler Happy Pets! Please note that the entry donation is per dog, with no more than 2 well-behaved dogs per person, and no more than 2 well-behaved humans per dog. Dogs must remain leashed while on the trails. We will gather at the WAG tent near the Lost Lake PassivHaus departing at 9:00am - please arrive early to check-in before the jog. Sign up here!

RecoveRun

Loosen up those post-race legs with our featured runner, Max King, on a relaxed 5km run through Lost Lake Park. Swap stories from race day, learn recovery techniques, or simply soak in the beauty of the surrounding forest and mountains. Train Wreck Excursion
Sunday, June 8th
Start: 10:00am at Cheaky's Cafe (park in the Bayly Park Parking Lot)

What are a bunch of train cars doing in the middle of the forest? Come join us as a Whistler local leads the group, exploring the mangled (and now graffiti-ed) train cars from the Cheakamus River train derailment of 2005. Only around 1km of flat easy trail in each direction, this outing is a great option for families and anyone else looking to explore this unique site. We will meet outside Cheaky's Cafe on Legacy Way (park in the Bayly Park Parking Lot) before heading onto the trail as a group toward the train wreck at 10:00am. Please arrive early, especially if you plan on picking up coffee/snacks ahead of the walk. Situated just south of Whistler, this excursion is in a great location for anyone heading down to Squamish, Vancouver, or beyond! Sign up here!

Guided Salish Forest Stroll
Sunday, June 8th
Start: 10:30am and 1:30pm at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC)
Registration Fee: $10 (minimum donation to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, spots limited)
Come learn about the local flora and fauna as you are guided through a short forest walk by a member of the Squamish or Lil’wat nations, on whose ancestral territory the Whistler Half Marathon is held. Lasting around 45 minutes, bathe in the beauty of the forest while listening to personal stories and traditional wisdom. Admission to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre Museum ($25 value) is included in registration.

SpaRun

Start: 5:45pm, Scandinave Spa Lobby, Whistler

Join us for SpaRun, a unique wellness experience hosted by Whistler Half Marathon and Scandinave Spa! The event begins with a relaxed, guided group run through the beautiful trails of Lost Lake Park led by Whistler local John Blok. Choose between the full 5km route or a shorter 3km option. After the run, unwind and recover with an evening of thermal therapy at the Scandinave Spa, available until 9pm.
Your ticket includes a discounted spa entry and a $5 donation to Crohn's and Colitis Canada. Pre-registration is required and spots are limited!
