DRIVING Whistler is located a scenic 90 minute drive north of Vancouver along the jaw-dropping Sea To Sky Highway. Leaving the coastal city of Vancouver, the highway makes it's way over towering bluffs above Howe Sound, and hugs rocky coves at the water's edge. Half way to Whistler is the community of Squamish, famous among the climbing community for it's massive granite monolith - The Chief. As you leave Squamish the highway begins to climb from sea level to the Village of Whistler at an elevation of 2200 feet above sea level. FLOAT PLANE Whistler is accessible by daily scheduled float plane service from Vancouver harbour (downtown) and Victoria's inner harbour..
