1 pm - Course Orientation with Race Director, Dave Clark Receive a complete run course orientation with the race director and course designer. Get tips on where the going gets tough and best spots to push yourself!
2 pm - Meditation for Runners with Karen Stefanson, International Meditation Facilitator Learn the basics of meditation and how it can help improve your running experience!
3 pm - The Power and Myths of Post Run Recovery with Christine Suter, Personal Trainer and Coach Learn tips and insight to the best recovery techniques for runners following the hard efforts put forward on race day.
4 pm - Mental Toughness, A Glimpse at Managing The Hurt with Greg McDonnell, Registered Clinical Counsellor Learn to manage the hurt from a former sponsored ski mountaineer, mountain bike racer, Ironman athlete, and member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.
5 pm - Keynote Speaker - Ultra-Marathoner Diane Van Deren Join Diane for an inspiring and insightful presentation of what it takes to be one of the world’s top performing ultra running athletes. With podium finishes in some of the toughest running events on the planet Diane speaks humbly, with much experience and passion from running in the desert and at the top of the world. From Mont Blanc to the Western States, Diane has been there and is here to share it all with you.
7 pm - Film Screening - Desert Runners A diverse cast of non-professional runners attempt to complete the most difficult ultra-marathon race series on Earth. Their dramatic journey takes them across the World’s most picturesque yet brutal landscapes, pushing their bodies, hearts and spirits through a myriad of external and internal obstacles. DESERT RUNNERS delves into the mindset of ultra-athletes, and the complex ways in which human beings deal with both heartbreak and triumph.
